Models are my main source of ideas on most daywear occasions. Here are some pics below of their sexy outfits jest boppin around town, hangin out, or gettin their hair did for the big shows.
I feel that the "effortless" in combination with broader access to designer ideas, their merchandise, and a great body tend to be the perfect ideal to look to for feeling chic on any day of the week.
Obviously we all aren't extremely exotic, tall, and in perfect shape. I feel that a good chic outfit makes these small differences quite irrelevant, and as you can see, most of the models I like to look at and post often don't even feel the need to flaunt their bodies. They are probably sick of that by now.
What's important and key here is that what we are looking at is the attitude behind these hott getups. High Fashion Model attitude to me is that of:
-Confidence in individuality
-Openness to change
-Education and exposure to the arts
-A lack of need to display sexual or financial powers
-An understanding for living and breathing through an ensemble
-Taking chances
-An appreciation for styling
-Being a kid in a candy store
I can't think of one thing on that list I don't want to look like on any given day.
Maybe if we all can think about every great and unique thing about us while we are getting ready to present ourselves, and we look at everything in our closets as if we've just seen it for the first time, we can look this good too. Cattitude is key, bro. Cattitude is key.
^ das Iekeline, she's my fav.
RIGHT NOW:
Obviously, a little black leather, done right, adds the most power to any outfit. This trend has recently proven to stick, a little investment here would be okay if you do it soonish. Guys AND Gals both.
Shoes are and forever will be important. Guys AND Gals
So is your bag. Whereas shoes serve more as a platform, your bag represents your personalitythese days. Choose it wisely and it'll get a good usin', too.
LESS IS MORE--- Simple CHIC
Things to keep in mind is,
1. If you're wearin a piece of cake outfit, keep something classy on you. Heres where leather, snakeskin, fur or gold come in handy. One of those touches keep you looking chic instead of plain jane, ready for the gym or house-bumming.
2. If your outfits busier, keep the hair away from the face and the makeup to a minimum.
3. Less black on the eyes is almost always more during the day.
4. Shit don't have to be real, high quality shines through. Just make sure theres something there or you're whole dependant outfit can get frumped. (I'm talkin if you was countin on your nice bag to pull you through, make sure its nice.)
5. If it looks like you spent a shitload of time on your hair, its probably not doing much for you at all (imoooo)
6. Wanna wear somethin big? Like, shoulder pads, widelegs or johdpurs? Keep your other half small (top or bottom.) It'll keep that nice lean goin and will be sure to not make you look bigger than you are, often times it'll actually make you look smaller when done right.
7. Only part of you that's allowed to advertise is your bag, if you want. Chic peeps don't go around with a louis vuitton bag, chanel scarf and a burberry coat. It's overkill. One at a time, if you must (which sometimes you must.)
8. DETAILS, details. Plastic buttons can ruin the image at times. Metal buttons can add class. This is very individual and for you to decide which buttons are acceptable and which are not. One thing I do, is never buy anything with the classic "forevs 21 two holed" buttons on it. It then becomes obvious of its creator, losing the mystery vibe of "where did you get that!" It's better to just tell people when they are pleased and ask than to advertise firsthand.
END CHIC TEEPS, let me know if you have an opinion...
I think you look pretty today
